Disavowed - Revocation Of The Fallen
I was quite impressed with what I heard on Disavowed's debut release "Perceptive Deception" from 2001. Fast forward to 2020, and their third album "Revocation Of The Fallen" is brutality at its most twisted.
I did not even think these guys were still around, but after being sent a digital stream of their newest album "Revocation Of The Fallen" recently, which is to be released July 31st, I am really digging the monstrous vocals, bombastic drumming, explosive bass rhythms, and artery slashing guitar rhythms on this bastard of a release.
"Therapeutic Dissonance" is just that, a therapy session is auditory torture, mind numbing guitar lashings, and vocals invoking your inner demons to repossess your helpless soul. Their guitar playing is packed with hard hitting fret workouts, which are sure to leave the listener in a mental hell of their own making.
The musicianship is very interesting and full of unsuspecting twist and turns over a brutal wall of sound, which is highly noticeable on the corpse sodomizing track "Egocentric Entity" .
"The Inevitable Outcome" brings images of our world dying in a heinous death initiated by the COVID-19 virus and wars fought on a global scale. This song just brings to mind hideous visions of a world dying in the apocalypse.
I love the standout and technically challenging bass lines on the impulsive and hate-filled last track "Facing The Singularity". This is the way bass guitars should be played, with enough angst and conviction to knock you on your head.
"Revocation Of The Fallen" is a blatant marriage of brutality from the heart and the mental frustrations of our path gone astray in this crazy world. Definitely recommended for fans of Disgorge, Severed Savior and Pyaemia. Awesome!!!! Brutal Mind. Sarjoo Devani
