I had the awesome opportunity to check out Cort's latest addition to their stellar lineup of guitars, and was pleasantly surprised with this six string axe. The playability is of quality, despite the thickness of the neck, I was able to take it for a serious test drive and got to experience everything this guitar is all about. The two humbuckers definitely rock with a lot of crunch and their tones just pierce the sound spectrum with utter precision.
The distortion depends a lot too on the amplifier you're using, but if you've got a rig with a whole lot of serious crunch, you're going to be impressed as I was. The weight of the guitar feels good, not light and not heavy, and is built really well too. The acoustical tones are deeply rich and warm (again depends on your amp's features), especially from what I heard on my solid state full stack.
The body and neck are made of Mahogany with the fretboard made of Rosewood. The use of these quality woods also adds not only to the guitar's beauty and playability but overall tonal range. And the 22 large frets make playing this baby a breeze.
Check out the video below for a little more in depth review and test drive of the new Cort CR230.
