Vorpal Nomad hail from Bogota, Colombia, and they play a solid style of upbeat power metal, more in the vein of Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, Stratovarius and Helloween. This five piece group are solid musicians and have their chops down, but what they are doing was done 15 years with the highest level of skill and musicianship. Don't get me wrong, Vorpal Nomad are great musicians and know their instruments really well.
There are nine songs on offer here, and all nine of them sound upbeat and musically they have the same style and direction on all. It would be nice to see these guys break it up and do something different with their talents.
However, it should be noted, the vocals are sung quite well considering Spanish is the band's first language.
Just check out the rockin' and technical lead runs on "The Mad Hatter" and you will see what I am talking about this was quite impressive unique in comparison to the rest of their songs on "Hyporborea"
Vorpal Nomad have plenty of potential but they need to focus their energies on doing something different with the solid heavy metal spirit they've within their sound and playing.
