Soul Gutter EP

Finnish death, doom and black metal bands have always been impressive, and so is Soul Gutter, who have sold their souls to the devil.

Soul Gutter reeks of old school-blackened death metal with modern hints of atmospheric metal in parts. This six track EP is more blasphemous than the desecration of the cross at your local church, the morbidity within the songs here is potent enough to banish your soul to the darkest depths of the abyss.

Imagine for a second, being confined to a darkened hell, where there is no safety for your violent fall to the depths of infernal fire. These were the ungodly images Soul Gutter’s unorthodox blackened death metal conjured up within my mind.

With fine touches of early Grave, Morgoth and Mayhem in places, this six song CD is truly tainted with touches of pure blasphemy from hell.

With bestial and monstrous, soul raping songs like “Idols Of Rot”, “The Parting” and “Cloak And Dagger” you’ll be sure to stare into the face of death in your most hellish hour of life on earth. The guitar rhythms here become instruments of emotional torture, the vocals senselessly violate your thought processes, and drumming comes across like bombs going off in the cold fields of your mind.

If you can deal with 30 minutes of pure fucking torture and suffering, Soul Gutter is sure leave you begging for more.   Self-Financed   Sarjoo Devani
