SINGULARITY – S/T (CD)
Singularity’s superb and stylistic mixture of technically fueled black/death metal is pretty damn unique for an extreme metal band of their caliber, especially with such majestic symphonic parts within their songs, it’s sure to take you on a trip to the infinite recesses of the mind. The razor sharp and the complex guitar riffs are backed up by some terrestrial-sounding synthesizer workouts that are sure to make you lose control of your thought processes. Their music is an interesting journey into the chaotic, beautiful, peaceful and violent attributes of the world, which only exists within our own minds. I love the fact that this bunch is as cohesive as they are, as there is so much going on within their songs, and with such diversity, they hit it on the nail on every track, wow!
With ten songs adding up to an hours worth of material, there is so much on offer here musically and lyrically, it is mind shattering when you try to comprehend all of this.
Overall, take the best musical and vocal elements of Theory In Practice, Atheist, Voivod and Dimmu Borgir, throw them in the extreme metal blender, and you’ve the quality sonic aesthetics of visual and aural atmospheres beyond your worst imagination with Singularity. Singularity is nothing short of total brilliance in an overcrowded nighttime sky with dying stars. [Self Released] Sarjoo Devani
