The name Serocs sends chills down my spine as it comes across as sounding nothing but demonic, ha, ha. “The Next” is the band’s fourth release, and it is pretty interesting in the fact, that this quartet (which features bassist Mike Poggione of Monstrosity) has a strong penchant for technical and precision-executed musicianship with somewhat deep growl vocals, but not guttural, out of this world, but sick enough to throw you into the vortex of insanity.
Serocs’ music and songwriting is more in the vein of Hate Eternal, but comes across more raw and organic, not overly produced in the studio. “The Next” deals with the human mind, human condition, and the battle of the self-verses external forces unleashed by the world. Yes, it does come across as sounding complex and open to interpretation to a certain degree, but when you read their thought provoking lyrics graced with other worldly musicianship, and then it is more damaging to the human mind as this shit fucks with your psyche and leaves you in a mental coma where psychosis is the norm. Check out “The Next” and feel your mind bleed out through your ears, eyes, nose and mouth, as you will experience the greatness of soul torture.
