RITI OCCULTI (CD)
Italian blackened doom metallers Riti Occulti play a very eclectic form of black metal, with many unique variances within their songwriting and arrangements.
The two different female vocals stylistically are eerie and spooky enough to haunt the inner demons from your cold corpse. The male vocals may sound like the typical black metal raspy style, but this vocalist uses his throat as more of a weird type of instrument that complements the chilling guitar parts quite well. The riffs alone here come across in a very disturbing fashion, and the synthesizers when incorporated with the guitar rhythms make for an agonizing listening experience.
With misery-laden cuts like “Never A Joy”, “Bitter Awakening”, “I’m Nobody” (great track for committing suicide due to its message), and “It’s All Grey”, you’ll feel like being locked up in a secured mental home somewhere desolate.
Riti Occulti know how to invoke unholy spiritual nuances with their soul draining black metal. These guys definitely know how to instill fear of the unknown into the heart of listeners. How much more mad can you get from listening to this type of occult metal gone to the lowest depths of human emotions?
Just writing this damn review sent shivers down my bare arms and legs, while I was emotionally being tormented by Riti Occulti’s hybrid of eerie black metal and doom.
Listen at your own bloody risk, and I do not suggest listening to this group at night with the lights off, because you will die in your nightmare. [Nordavind] Sarjoo Devani
