Oslo, Norway’s power trio known as Repulsive Aggression play a dark and wicked mixture of thrash/death metal with gruff vocals, not guttural, so you can understand the lyrical torture found here. “Conflagration” is loaded with ten tracks of pure anger, hate, frustration, and enough death metal brutality to kick your head back into your beaten torso.
When you’re exposed to the mid-paced to the quick temps changes of “Sub Human Destruction”, you’ll feel as if you’ve been thrown into a blending machine set on high speed, while your corpse get shredded to death. Repulsive Aggression’s music and bleak lyrics tend to conjure up images of suffering on a mass scale, and you get to be the main star in “Conflagration’s” aural punishment. “Predator” starts of slowly with its chugging guitar rhythms and then picks up the rapid delivery of the drum and rhythms assault upon your senses, kind of imagine a young Kreator running into Slayer, so you can possibly imagine how lethal this mixture of the thrash greats can be. I do not think there is a dull moment on this album as every track on here starts of with incredible twists and turns.
Repulsive Aggression is the surely not the most original band to come from Norwegian shores, but they sure know to make you feel misery and pain. Don’t tell me I did not warn you about these guys, as it can get pretty nasty and treacherous listening to Repulsive Aggression’s debut CD. [Schwarzdorn] Sarjoo Devani
