RED MOON ARCHITECT – Fall (CD)

This quintet known as, Red Moon Architect play a brilliant blend of doom, ethereal, and dark metal with plenty of emotions to drown your mind in.

Red Moon Architect's newest album “Fall” is comprised of nine haunting songs that are sure to take your breath away with their fragile emotions. The musicianship makes for an awesome listening experience as you’re bound to feel every ounce of their emotions featured here. And the production on this album is the best, as it is well produced with such a clean sound, (not too over produced), everyone can be heard clearly. Red Moon Architect’s amalgamation of the unique musical styles found here definitely benefits from a solid studio production from beginning to end. Musically, they’ve many unique styles incorporated into one huge sound. Everything from doom metal to classically infused synth passages can be heard here. The clean female singing is just brilliant, more in the vein of Within Temptation meets The Gathering with Anneke.

This album is close to 1 hour in length, with four of the cuts being in the seven- minute range and the others in the four to five minutes category. What makes Red Moon Architect such a unique band is that their ability to write and play different parts of music on all of their songs here, which just grabs your attention and sucks you into the speakers.

“The Other Side” is a perfect example of this musical diversity, with the song featuring chest pounding drums, growl vocals, clean, eerie female vocals, solid lead guitar runs, and atmospheric synthesizer arrangements that haunt. This track also features memorable electric acoustic guitar strumming parts intermingled with the headbanging distorted guitar rhythms.

Red Moon Architect has more in common with their now defunct country mates Unholy. My Dying Bride and November’s Doom influences also creep into the songs presented on “Fall”.

Check out “Fall” and see your end become a bitter reality as Red Moon Architect becomes your master in misery and depression. I give this album a 10 out of 10. [Playground Music] Sarjoo Devani
