Germany’s Parasite Inc. play a melodic and angst-driven style of death and thrash metal that is sure to get everyone into a moshing and headbanging frenzy during their live performances. Musically, this quartet is tight and the execution of their skull thrashing rhythms, riffs and drum assaults make for an incredible lesson sonic brutality. The vocals too, are quite pissed off, with that semi-death metal growl too it, nothing like Deicide or Morbid Angel, but it is potent enough to make your hair stand up.
“Time Tears Down” is a very unique record with all 13 songs on here displaying their own identity. I love the fact that these guys can blend in strong guitar harmonies and tie them in with such muscle bruising guitar and bass rhythms. And their lead runs too, are kind of rockin’ but with the traditional NWOBHM flair – hell ya. There are plenty of subtle synthesizer arrangements and parts on this album, but nothing too overbearing or annoying, whereby you can’t hear the other instruments.
The production and mix on this album is quite noteworthy as it is clean note played. “Time Tears Down” is packed very well played guitar melodies, razor sharp riffs, chunky bass rhythms, diverse drumming parts, and vocals as serious as a heart attack (no pun intended). Highly recommended for fans of Scar Symmetry, Dimension Zero and Arch Enemy. [Good Damn Records]
