NOCTURNAL

Nocturnal

The quartet aptly known as Nocturnal will rock your world with its Ozzy Osbourne influenced vocals and heaviness of Black Sabbath, with a slight bluesy edge to their music. Nocturnal’s music kind of reminds me a lot of the seventies hard rock movement but with more modern touches to their vocals and instrumentation. Their guitars are downtuned and have a somber mood to them, but the vocals bring much light to the eight songs featured here.

This is highly recommended for fans of Electric Earth, another Swedish metal group and early Black Sabbath, when Ozzy was at his finest. Nocturnal will not let you down on their self-titled debut record, which clocks in a little under 40 minutes. You want to bang your head, now you can with Nocturnal’s upbeat and harmony powered metal. This is a very promising start from Nocturnal, whom I see scale bigger and bigger audiences as time goes by.
