Listening to Switzerland’s guttural death metal brigade, Near Death Condition, one would think from the get go, there is not a whole of lot of originality to what they do, but listening further on, you forget about the originality and delve deeper into their chaotic and twisted riff and rhythm maelstrom.
If their riffs and caustic rhythms were iron daggers, you’d be sliced into millions beyond recognition. “Evolving Towards Extinction” is 11-tracks of pure auditory torture in the sickest of ways. Remember one thing, it is not about being flashy and out of this world trendy, as NDC play with total precision and fatally wound the ear canals until they spell the words: “Evolving Towards Extinction”, get my drift?
The Hertz Studio (Poland) production is balanced, clear, yet bringing out the band’s tightness and cleverness in everything totally brutal and catchy. Yes, death metal can be brutal yet catchy enough to be interesting as is the case with Near Death Condition. Just one listen to the fall on your face, machine gun-like rapid snare and blast beat assaults on “Communing With Emptiness”, you’ll feel the pure hate and uncontrollable rage this weapon of mass destruction aptly known as Near Death Condition bring to your emotionally unstable mind. Prepare to die in the foreboding chaos of “Evolving Towards Extinction”. Need I bleed more in getting my point across? [Unique Leader] Sarjoo Devani
