With a downtuned guitar sound and a steel re-enforced sound of wall in utter heaviness, who would think the quartet who make up J.D. Overdrive, also play golf and host baroque poetry readings. Yes, this Polish heavy rock band influenced by U.S. Southern-style heavy rock, and bands along the lines of Down, Black Sabbath, Black Label Society are sure to fucking rock your world besides show you how to play golf and read some baroque poetry, ha, ha.
There are ten choice cuts of intense heaviness that’s sure to make you bang your head ‘til you knock yourself out. It is the strong sound and production of these songs, which make it a hit in my book. Also, if you enjoy the likes of Crowbar, Down and early Black Label Society, this album’s sure to kick your ass fair and square.
What blows me away, is the fact that this band is from Poland, a country known for its solid death and black metal scene, but, hey, there is room for J.D. Overdrive to be apart of that Polish metal pie. Being that these guys are from Poland, it only should favor them in the long run due to their southern, heavy rockin’ style, which will go over very well U.S. heavy metal and heavy rock audiences.
I can only imagine being at one of their live gigs and just getting fucking thrashed, oh ya!!!
J.D. Overdrive is not extreme metal music, just heavy metal music with a southern charm and that deep south gritty attitude, got it, ya’ all? [Metal Mind Productions] Sarjoo Devani
