HUMILIATION – Battalion (CD)
Humiliation, a death metal outfit from Malaysia is back with their newest and fifth record in the form of “Battalion”, and it is a pure display of the brutality and pulsating heaviness, which made groups like Bolt Thrower, Unleashed and Asphyx such a huge hit in the early nineties.
Musically, this band has many similarities to the bands mentioned above, but they’ve thrown in some unique hard-hitting grooves with some serious punch. Although not that original as the 11 songs featured on this album sound so freakin’ similar to that of Bolt Thrower primarily, but this is the style Humiliation is largely influenced by, so you’re going to find style within their music too.
Their lyrics about war, genocide and political upheaval make this album interesting, kind of reminds of Napalm Death in the lyrical department.
Humiliation is a good listen, especially if you like the punchy and pounding guitar rhythms of Bolt Thrower, with the unrelenting rawness of Asphyx and Unleashed. [Deepsend] Sarjoo Devani
