Goholor – In Saeculis Obscuris EP
Goholor’s immaculately played and sharp as a razor death metal is sure to slit your throat and your wrists on their debut EP “In Saeculis Obscuris”.
This Slovakian death metal squad is armed to the teeth with battle-ready drumming, modernistic riffs that come at you like missiles, and vocals blasphemous enough to bring back the dead from their timeless slumber. The way their music is put together and played is chaotic and violent, yet it leaves enough room for the listener to experience their own destruction.
“Symbols Of Blasphemy”, the fourth track on this EP is a wall of sadistic guitar rhythms with ungodly precision, backed by tormented and suffocated growls, while the drumming just jackhammers your head into the ground without any remorse. This is the type of song headbangers stage dive to and bang their heads to until they’re completely knocked senseless. This is the song to go fucking crazy to when you’re at their live show and stage diving on someone’s head.
The darkened aggression found on Goholor’s EP reminds of the good old days of death metal mixed with hints of black metal done so well by the likes of In Aeturnum and Dissection many eons ago. It’s great to hear “In Saeculis Obscuris” carries the flag of old school death and black metal high and mighty. I cannot wait until these guys release their full length CD, as it’s going to be even more evil than the countless genocides the world has endured through the ages of time. Goholor is insanely very brutal on “In Saeculis Obscuris” , and they’ve just begun their wrath of tyranny upon humanity. Symbol Of Domination Sarjoo Devani
