Despite the thin and at time buried in the mix production of the bass guitars and drums, Endless Void is worth checking out for their tripped out mixture of Black Sabbath meets Voivod. What a whacked out combination as it kind of makes you feel like you’re in some strange heavy metal land.
This four-track ep, “Apparitions” is eerie in places and in others it is bursting at the seams with darkened frustration, coming from a disturbed mindset. Not to scare the fucking hell out of you, but Endless Void is definitely not the most pleasing style of heavy metal ever recorded. The direction of the clean vocals, which sound deprived of life at times, and the doom-laden atmosphere found here make this ep one hell of a listen.
This is ep has huge potential and so does Endless Void, but personally, I’d take some time off to put together an album’s worth of material and then take world by storm with a cleaner sound and a stronger production. Then this should put Endless Void up there with the likes of Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus. Check this ep out and do not just write them off yet.
