EMBRIONAL – The Devil Inside (CD)
Man, I tell you, Embrional brought back memories of the good old days of death metal with hints of black metal, on their latest offering “The Devil Inside”.
This album is very brutal, dark, sinister in style and sound, kind of like early Immolation mixed in with Incantation and very early Morbid Angel.
The solid studio production and sound surely bring out the band’s heaviness to its highest peak. So, “The Devil Inside” is totally bestial and in your guts, making your body totally vulnerable to unholy spirits possessing your human shell.
Embrional keep their songs pretty interesting with their sudden tempo changes to the ultra pounding rhythms to the rapid snare and double bass violation of your eardrums.
This album speaks volumes of early Immolation and Incantation with hints of Morbid Angel’s early days. This trio maybe stuck in the mid-nineties, but their unholy blend of death and black metal is nihilistic with no mercy in sight.
People, this is what extreme metal is all about, screwing current trends and going with your gut Satanic instincts to destroy all who dare cross your intellectual as well as spiritual paths.
The idea, these guys can create such bleak and darkened atmospheres without the use of synthesizers says a lot about their talents as songwriters. What dark, lightning dispelling clouds are to the sky, Embrional is to the world of extreme metal. Embrional much more lethal and destructive than what Mother Nature can throw towards humanity.
Check it out and watch yourself die a thousand times with “The Devil Inside” of you.
