DISCORD – Pale Death (CD)
Hailing from the Garden State of New Jersey, Discord specializes in melodic but extreme style of guttural, raspy, double bass blasting death metal. The sick and twisted deadly trio-throw everything they’ve at their disposal, at the listener, and some of their riffs are coming off in such unpredictable ways, you’re left taking cover for yourself, just for the fear of their flesh piercing guitar work coming at you like it’s the end of the world. “Pale Death” is a five song e.p. and is brilliantly executed in musicianship as this ep sounds good and the songs will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat hanging on for dear life.
What I was most impressed with was the Ripping Corpse vocal influences blended in with the low-end guttural growls made popular by Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse. Discord is a very talented bunch, and can do a lot more musically and vocally to challenge themselves as well as their listeners, so lets see if this trio can do something more drastic musically and vocally on their future full length CD.
