DEEP IN HATE – Chronicles Of Oblivion (CD)
France’s Deep In Hate play a downtuned, hellish blend of deathcore with melodies and intense grooves, that are sure to knock you on your ass. “Chronicles Of Oblivion” is a metal slab of sound that is lethal enough to kill even the most trained death metal ears.
The punishing guitar rhythms, wicked leads are kind of reminiscent of early Meshuggah, and the skull shattering drumming will blow your mind to a million tiny pieces on this nine tracker. These guys definitely live up to their band moniker, Deep In Hate, as they’re so brutally sick and heavy as hell that mosh pits at their concert are sure to go out of control.
“The Cattle Procession” features some interesting and eerie-sounding guitar arpeggios with an odd time signature, something sure to appeal to fans of Atheist, Meshuggah and even Aborted. The growl vocals on “Altars Of Lies” sounds like a bunch of demons unleashed upon your frail soul. The vocals on this song come across as a beastly roar, leaving you wondering, what hit you across your forehead and just disappeared into thin air.
These guys definitely blow White Chapel, Arsis, and others within the same genre of extreme metal by a million miles. Deep In Hate is a very killer band, deed. [Kaotoxin] Sarjoo Devani
