This Finnish extreme metal outfit play a symphonic driven style of black metal with hints of old school death metal, but with plenty of feeling and brutality. “Project Utopia” is a strong release, being that it is their second EP, but I can only imagine their future full length CD will be a release to watch for.
Creinium has plenty of influences from the likes of Dimmu Borgir, Gahenna and early Cradle Of Filth, but are gutsy to try different things musically and vocally with their style of haunting and symphonic blackened death metal. The production being also a very strong point on this ep gives their fives tracks a killer sound, and just comes at you like a raging demon out for your soul.
Do not be surprised if you find yourself possessed by the chilling aesthetics of Creinium’s music here, as it is a superb combination of all that’s wicked, potent and soothingly mind numbing. These guys have plenty of potential to go somewhere, possibly even become a top 100 heavy metal band in the not too distant future. [Inverse] Sarjoo Devani
