CONQUER – A Worms Demise e.p. (CD)

Remember the good old days of when blackened death and thrash metal were not trendy and it was all about the music, which unleashed some of the darkest moments musically through your speakers? If you do remember these good times, you’re in for a darkened and deadly treat with Ontario, Canada’s Conquer, a quartet fascinated with the darkest side of life. The spirit of total darkness and everlasting torment is something you will experience on “A Worms Demise” e.p., and believe me, it will take hold of your inner core and throw it into total chaos and despair.

The three songs on here have a lot in common with such death, thrash and black metal heavy weights as: Morbid Angel, Celtic Frost, Hate Eternal, Slayer and Immortal.

Conquer is a class act in utter despicable brutality of the highest order, and they do it convincingly enough to make the listener go into a destructive rage and beyond. You do not want to play this e.p. while driving, as it will increase your acceleration to deadly speeds.

Of the three songs featured here, I was very much blown away by “God Is The Destroyer’s” repulsive musical insanity and couple of Tom Araya vocal-like influences along with the growls made this song more morbid in nature and sound.

Conquer definitely has a dark future ahead of them, so check out their latest e.p. and knock yourself out. [Self-Financed]  Sarjoo Devani
