Coldseed – Completion Makes The Tragedy
Coldseed is comprised of Soilwork’s singer Bjorn Strid and various members from Blind Guardian and Savage Circus, and play an interesting style of industrial, slight gothic laced groove metal.
Coldseed’s musical vision is more parallel to that of Strapping Young Lad and Tiamat, but with more unsuspecting twist and turns within their music. One minute you’re mellowed out with some somber moods and the next they’re thrashing away at full force.
This reissue by Metal Mind Productions has no bonus cuts, but it comes on a golden disc and is limited to 2000 numbered copies in the world. And the Digipac packaged CD stands out with its booklet and superb design/layout presentation.
Even though Coldseed’s music falls under the genre of industrial/gothic/groove metal, it is tastefully executed and definitely shows the creative side of the sextet making up Coldseed.
There are plenty of well written and played musical elements, which have tons of rhythmic parts along with the headbanging parts you’d come to expect from a band of this caliber.
This 12-track record has many unique harmonies and melodies to carry the listener over to a sheer metal, industrial and goth paradise. As many cool arrangements are on this album, “Completion Makes The Tragedy” is surely one hell of a listening experience you’re not to forget anytime soon.
The contorted guitar rhythms, fat, thunderous bass parts and explosive drumming make Coldseed one brutal contender within the industrial and gothic metal genres.
This album is highly recommended for fans of Devin Townsend, Strapping Young Lad, Type O Negative and even Soilwork to an extent. Enter Coldseed’s world at your own risk and don’t look back. [Metal Mind Productions] Sarjoo Devani
