Cadaveria + Necrodeath = Mondoscuro
This is one hell of a very, very dark EP, as Italians Cadaveria and Necrodeath have paired up here to cover each others songs as well as few surprises sure to give you chills.
First of, Cadaveria covers Necrodeath’s “Mater Tenebarum”, which is not as heavy as the original, but sounds a lot darker than Necrodeath’s version. Now this was pretty interesting, to hear a death metal song turned into a dark metal tune.
Now, with the tables turned, it is Necrodeath’s turn to cover Cadaveria’s “Spell”, which comes across with its death metal fierceness and just burns the listener down to the ground.
Each band also has an original song, which they’ve written and also play on, so this shows you that they are more than capable of writing their own material.
Moreover, this release is interesting because Cadaveria also cover Type O Negative’s “Christian Woman”, which is not as musically convincing as the original version, but it comes across as sounding very wicked in parts. You got to love the evil vibrations on this song…
Last but not least, Necrodeath covers The Beatles’ Helter Skelter, and this version is a 100 times heavier than the original rock & roll version written and played by The Beatles. This is something that should make Paul and Ringo very happy.
It’s a very interesting release to say the least, but what these two bands have to offer the listener is more than just dark and death metal played to the extremes, as it has tons of substance. Black Tears Of Death Records Sarjoo Devani
