This blackened thrash band hail from Oslo, Norway, and play a varied style of black metal tinged thrash metal reminiscent of the best of Immortal, Sodom, Dark Funeral and even Kreator.
The nine songs on here add up to almost an hour’s worth total blasphemy, hate and darkness to engulf your entire world. Keep in mind, the music here is very old school inspired with a modern edge, but done the ancient way, with a weird green and black CD cover and a total blackened image of the band.
This is Asaru’s second full length CD and shows no signs of changing or slowing down as they specialize in pure underworld death and fire worship with a hellish touch of darkness in all nine of their songs.
Just listen to the almost 8 minute long “World On Fire” with its death march-like rhythms and an overall apocalyptic feel with its depressive guitar tones and the drums coming across as a soundtrack to your end. Just watch your heart race on this one and you will feel like you’re dying in hell’s ruthless inferno.
Highly worth checking out if you’re into the more obscure black metal played in the old school vein. Keep in mind, “From The Chasms Of Oblivion” requires an open mind, as these guys do not sound like your typical black metal or death metal band.
