It must be noted here that power trio Arcanum Sanctum, who hail from the icy landscapes of Moscow, Russia play a progressive yet heavy style of melodic death metal. “Veritas Odium Parit” picks up where In Flames and Soilwork left off a dozen or so years ago. This eight tracker simply smokes with its melodic, yet ear-ripping, shred leads and semi-atmospheric synths on a couple of their songs, which definitely keeps things even more interesting here. Musically, A.S. know what they’re doing, and sound like a 6-piece unit with the slew of talent they all possess with their instruments. People, again, do not forget this is a three-man group yet they sound so majestic in their hardhitting, nail biting melodic death metal.
Two of the noteworthy tracks to check out here are: “Beware The Dreamer” and “My Butterfly” with their intricate lead structures, insane riffs and head pounding rhythms that’ll knock the fucking life out of your soul.
Arcanum Sanctum have a fresh sound and a unique way of approaching melody driven death metal, and definitely put to shame the sold out In Flames and Soilwork.
