Antigama - Depressant
Polish post apocalyptic misery bringers play grind with such insane passion, which gives their grindcore an eerie, post apocalyptic feel in sound, it feels as if your world is coming to an abrupt end.
"Depressant" could easily be described as the opposite drug of anti-depressant, as it just shakes up the listener with it's malignant and corrosive energy, that it makes you feel all that much better mentally. Their lyrics come from a personal and darkened space, something many of us could possibly relate to at one time or another. This 19 minute slab of grinding hell is definitely inline with many grindcore releases, being short in length, but just packed with some wicked guitar, vocal and drumming energy unknown to human ears. "Division Of Lonely Crows" has that post apocalyptic, new world order-like vibe to it, reminding of the same energy found on Napalm Death's "Glimpse Into Genocide" track.
Keep in mind, Antigama is not for every fan of grindcore, but is a very sincerely written and delivered album of epic grind proportions within 20 minutes. Yes. this is very fast, but as long as you absorb the band's sheer positive energy and power, you're on your way to being cured from all of humanity's ills.
Be prepare to thrash your head up in an unrelenting way, and letting all of your negative energy unleashed upon the sickness we describe as humanity.
I do not have any favorite songs on this album, as the main reason being, they're all brilliantly and painstakingly presented here for your pure listening torture. SelfMadeGod Records Sarjoo Devani
