AGE OF TORMENT – I, Against

Take the best elements of Soilwork, Skinlab, Dimension Zero and even some Pantera to a certain extent and you’ve Age of Torment, a melodic thrash metal unit. “I, Against” is a solid release in terms of musical and vocal delivery, but it is not something that’ll move mountains as they sound too much like the bands mentioned above. Also, you cannot put them in the category of extreme metal bands as they're not that extreme, but their musicianship is solid for sure.

The good news is, they’re a young enthusiastic bunch of metal heads who will continue to develop and cultivate their own style of extreme metal. This musical character of being unique can be heard slightly on the catchy “My Own Disease” with its dynamic guitar changes and unpredictable vocal styles, which makes “Age Of Torment” all that more promising for the future.

“I, Against” is a positive start to a very promising band with a solid future, provided they can embrace musical growth. [WormHoleDeath]  Sarjoo Devani
