Aborted frontman Sven and Co. are back with “Global Flatline”, their most musically mature and extreme outing to date. The musicianship all around is tight as hell, the lyrics still gory, but with more focus and depth, and the brutality found in every song here will make you want to headbang until you drop dead, no kidding.
What makes “Global Flatline” such a dynamic record is its ability to go from such groove driven extremeness to the fast parts - whereby the blast beats just come roaring at you like a panther blood hungry for your fresh flesh. Sounds pretty damn horrific, huh, well it is.
This is one of the many aspects of Aborted I have always admired because the band do not give a rat’s ass about what is the norm within the extreme metal circles. For me personally what makes every Aborted release special is the fact that they have that Carcass influence and feel to their songs.
For those of you looking for some intricately played solos and melodies, check out the very hideous sonic antics of “From A Tepid Whiff” and you will see why Aborted is still killing since they began their aural massacre in the early nineties. Another highlight on this 14-tracker is the “Our father, Who Art Of Feces” with its blisteringly played leads and muscle bruising rhythms will leave you battered and tattered.
“Global Flatline is just as interesting as it all out perversely extreme in the sickest sense – truly very twisted.
