It is very sad when you receive news that a talented, groundbreaking, humble, individualistic, and iconic musician and songwriter such as George Michael has passed away. At age 53 he was still young and had so much more talent left in him to entertain the world for several more generations. True, his style of music was nothing close to what we feature at ExplicitlyIntense.com, but what he stood for, the talents he possessed, and the individualism, which he was also known for, is a very BIG element within the heavy metal world. Individualism creates a solid songwriter, not a trend follower.
I always enjoyed his music and talents, but it was my wife who truly introduced me to George Michael's greatness as a singer, songwriter and a humble, down-to-earth soul he was.
My all time favorite album from George is 2004's "Patience", which is still a record I turn to today when I am feeling down or sad. After one listen to "Amazing" and "Flawless (Go To The City)", I am filled with extreme happiness.
George, thank you for all the years of great music listening and "Flawless" entertainment, as it gave me more of an open mind to listen to many different types of music.
Last but not least, my wife and I were literally taken to musical bliss when we saw you in concert, in Tampa, the summer of 2008. We'll never forget you nor what your music meant to us personally.
May your good soul rest in peace, until we meet again...
