Alessandro Bertoni (Int.)
Italian born Alessandro Bertoni has recorded one of the best progressive metal, jazz-rock fusion CDs, which I’ve heard in a long while. He has assembled a top-notch lineup of world-class musicians: Virgil Donati (Drums), Ric Fierabracci (bass) and Brett Garsed (guitar). Also producer Derek Sherinian has produced Bertoni’s solo debut album “Keystone”, which is brilliantly produced, so rich in the record’s overall sound. This album has tons of positive vibes, as it’ll carry you away to a dimension of total bliss and peace. Bertoni’s synth passages are unbelievably ethereal and breathtaking throughout this eight-song journey. Guitarist Brett Garsed adds his melodically and groove-charged guitars, while bassist Ric Fierabracci and drummer Virgil Donati hold down a solid rhythm section, which rounds out the musical diversity found here. Just check out the highlight tracks here: “To The Ends Of The Earth”, “Pacifica Rampage”, “Tertium Non Datur” and “Galactic Halo”, and you’ll know what I am talking about.
Musically and song-wise, this entire record is nothing short of spectacular, as it is a well written album of many unique influences and emotions combined to make one heck of a cohesive listening experience. “Keystone” is an excellent collection of instrumental numbers by Alessandro Bertoni, so check it out. And check out this great Podcast interview with the creative mind behind these songs. Bertoni gives Explicitly Intense a glimpse as to the recording of the album and working with Derek Sherinian, and how it helped the whole process.
